  • The broad bay has continuous curtaining, which was highly fashionable in Regency England.
  • The diaphanous white curtains filter, but would not entirely block the sunlight, creating an atmospheric, luminous but not harshly-lit interior.
  • The pier-glasses are axially aligned to the entrances to the room, to create the illusion of a spacious enfilade.
