- The main body of the island is formed from vertical tongue-&-groove boarding.
- On the sides, the 3 metopes contain power sockets, for the use of kitchen implements on the island, & a central knob, for the hanging of towels or oven gloves.
- The front contains a drawer on either side, supported on the columns, flanking a central gap (intended as the location for a dog basket).
