- Due to the rise of the hill, the west elevation is at first-floor level, creating a long, low cottage appearance, even on the cross-gabled end that is so prominent from the south.
- A simple, Lutyens-inspired loggia sits beneath a large dormer, & gives direct access to the first-floor Drawing Room.
