Design for a corner chimneybreast
- This is a design to reinstate a corner chimneybreast in a panelled ground-floor room in a 17th-century house in Wiltshire.
- The original was removed in the 18th century, but survived at basement & on the first floor. An outline of the box cornice on an adjacent wall & a fragment of a jamb from the original fire surround were all that survived.
- The replacement was designed to fit around & retain in situ the remains of the original.
