Thorney Abbey
- Thorney Abbey in Cambridgeshire was built from 1090-1110, heavily remodelled in the 15th century, dissolved & ruined in 1539, & repaired but vastly reduced in size in 1638.
- This reconstruction is based on an architectural analysis of the abbey that formed part of Justin’s M.A. dissertation, & considered physical, documentary & comparative evidence; the left half is c.1200, the right half c.1500.
